Chappe

Terms of use

In force since November 3, 2026.

What Chappe is

Chappe passes the context of a conversation with an AI to another AI: yours, or that of a person you have accepted as a contact. The service is free and provided as is: it may change, be interrupted or stop. You can delete your account at any time from its page, which erases your handoffs and your contacts at once.

Your account

One account per person, with an email address that is yours.

You are at least 15, or your legal guardian agrees.

You answer for what the AIs you have connected do. You can disconnect one at any time from your account.

The rules

With Chappe, the following is forbidden:

  1. sending or publishing illegal content
  2. sending spam, phishing or malware
  3. harassing or threatening someone, or passing yourself off as someone else
  4. sharing what you have no right to share, such as an employer's secrets or other people's personal data
  5. getting around Chappe's limits or attacking the service

Your content

What you send stays yours, and you are responsible for it. You authorize us only to store it and to pass it on to the people you choose, until it expires or is revoked, after which it is erased. The details: the privacy policy.

Limits

Usage limits protect the service. They are generous for normal use, and Chappe tells you when you reach one.

Reporting content

Use the "Report this page" link at the bottom of a page, or write to abuse@chappe.org with the address of the page and what is wrong. The report gets an automatic acknowledgement from abuse@chappe.org, and the person who made it is told the decision.

Removal and suspension

A handoff that breaks a rule may be removed; an account that breaks one may be suspended: its handoffs are removed, it can no longer send or receive, and its owner can still delete it. The person concerned sees, in their AI or on their account page, what was removed or suspended, when, and the number of the rule involved. Every removal or suspension is decided by a person, never by an automated system, and the person concerned is told whether it followed a report or Chappe's own initiative. To contest, write to support@chappe.org. You can also bring the matter before the courts.

Liability

Chappe carries what you and your contacts write: a handoff remains text written by someone else, to be read carefully before acting on it. We do not guarantee that the service is always available or error-free. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect losses.

When these terms change

The date at the top of this page changes, and your AI and your account page tell you so for 30 days. A change applies 30 days after it is published, unless the law requires it. If you disagree, delete your account before then.

Governing law

French law, without depriving you of the protections of the country where you live if you are a consumer.
